Is PDF to Scan free?
Yes. You can scan and create PDFs for free. A Pro subscription unlocks text extraction (OCR) and unlimited saved documents — the free tier keeps up to three.
Do my documents get uploaded anywhere?
No. Scanning, PDF creation, and text recognition all run on your device. There's no server that receives your documents — they simply stay in the app. See our Privacy Policy.
Does it work without internet?
Completely. Every core feature works offline. You only ever need a connection to start or manage a subscription through the App Store.
Do I need to create an account?
Never. There's no sign-up, no email, no login. Open the app and start scanning.
How do I manage or cancel Pro?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. You can manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. More detail on the Support page and in our Terms.
Which devices are supported?
PDF to Scan runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Camera scanning needs a device camera; you can also import existing photos and PDFs.
